🚨 Read This First
StepBet only receives steps tracked directly by an approved device:
iPhone
Apple Watch
Oura
Garmin
UltraHuman
RingConn
Zepp
HBand
Through Apple Health, we do not receive steps from:
Fitbit
Whoop
Strava
MyFitnessPal
Pedometer apps
Any other third-party apps
Manually added steps (these appear as “Health”)
If steps are recorded by an unapproved third-party app or manually entered, they will not sync to StepBet.
Start Here (Quick Fix Checklist)
Before diving deeper:
✅ Check the App Store for StepBet updates
✅ Check the App Store for Apple/Tracker updates
✅ Open StepBet and tap “Update Now”
✅ Try uninstalling and reinstalling StepBet
If your steps still don’t match, continue below.
The Most Common Fix: Data Source Order
In most cases, Apple Health data sources are out of order.
Apple only sends StepBet steps from your highest priority devices.
How to Check Data Source Order
Open Apple Health
-
Tap Steps
Scroll down to the bottom > Tap Data Sources & Access > Scroll to Data Sources
Under Data Sources, tap Edit, if necessary, based on information below.
Your order should be:
1️⃣ Primary tracker (Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, etc.)
2️⃣ Secondary tracker (if applicable)
3️⃣ iPhone
Remove or deactivate:
Old devices
Devices no longer in use
Third-party step sources (see below)
💡 Tip: Tap a device to see recent step activity. If it shows old dates, it’s no longer active.
After adjusting, return to StepBet and tap “Update Now.”
Remove Third-Party Step Sources
StepBet only counts steps recorded directly by approved Apple-connected devices.
If apps like Strava or MyFitnessPal are contributing step data, Apple may filter steps in a way that reduces what gets sent to StepBet.
To clean this up:
In Apple Health → Steps
Tap into third-party sources
Remove permissions or delete those step entries
This helps Apple send clean, accurate totals.
Important: Manually Added Steps
Steps manually added in Apple Health: ![]()
❌ Cannot be validated
❌ Do not sync to StepBet
❌ Will not count toward goals
If you’ve manually added steps, rely on the total shown inside StepBet to confirm your goal progress each day. We recommend removing manually added steps to ensure accuracy between Apple Health and StepBet.
Still Not Matching?
Make sure:
Apple is selected as your tracker in StepBet
(Profile → Step Source)Bluetooth is on (for Apple Watch users)
-
StepBet still has permission to read Steps:
Apple Health → Profile → Apps → StepBet
Make sure Steps is toggled ON (green)
If needed, you can reset permissions:
Turn off StepBet access in Apple Health
Open StepBet and reconnect
