If you're using Google Fit to track your steps, it now requires Google Health Connect permissions in order to receive your step data.
If these permissions aren’t enabled, your steps won’t sync.
⚠️ Important Update
Google updated how step data is shared, so StepBet can no longer read steps directly from Google Fit.
👉 Your steps must now flow through Health Connect before they reach StepBet.
✅ Step 1: Enable Google Fit Permissions in Health Connect
Open the Google Play Store
Search for Health Connect
Tap Open
Tap App permissions (or Your health apps)
Select Google Fit
Tap Set Up (if prompted)
Turn on:
Read Steps
Write Steps
(or toggle Allow All ON)
Tap Allow → Done
🔁 Step 2: Set Google Fit as Your Primary Data Source
In Health Connect, tap Manage Data
Tap Data sources & priority
Find Google Fit
Tap the three dots (⋮) and select Move Up
(or drag it to the top)
👉 Google Fit should be in the #1 position
🔄 Step 3: Sync Your Steps to StepBet
Follow this order to ensure your steps sync correctly:
Open Google Fit
Let it fully sync your steps
Open Health Connect → Data & Access → Steps
Confirm your steps appear
You should see Google Fit listed as the source
Open StepBet
Tap “Update Now”
⚠️ Important Notes
Re-selecting your tracker in StepBet will not trigger permissions again
Permissions must be updated directly in Health Connect
Manually added activities (entered in Google Fit) will not sync to StepBet
🧪 Still Not Working?
If your steps still aren’t syncing, please send:
A screenshot of Health Connect → Steps (past few days)
Confirmation that Google Fit is your selected tracker
We’re happy to take a look! 👟
💙 Final Tip
Once your steps appear in Health Connect, you're on the right track, StepBet will be able to receive them!
